Kate Bond
Born in Birmingham Kate first began her creative career as a Jeweller after securing a First Class Honours degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Loughborough University. She exhibited in many contemporary galleries both in the UK and internationally. Kate also had her work acquired for private collections. Awards from this period include a bursary from the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and The Princes Trust. Over the years Kate has taught Textiles Design and has 20 years of experience.
After getting married and having two children, Kate achieved a Distinction in her Masters in Fashion and Textiles at Bath Spa University, specialising in Surface Design. Since then she has been commissioned for several public art projects including a series of murals for The RUH, Bath, Magnolia House, Yeovil, Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury, Severn Hospice, Telford, St Peter’s Hospice, Bristol, the new Y Bwthyn NGS Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Unit in Wales……... For the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Kate created a thoughtful and sensitive scheme for the Bereavement Suite, alongside other freelance commissions. Post MA, Kate designed wallpaper for Nina Campbell and created bespoke wall-coverings and fabrics for Greenspeares in the heart of Chelsea, London.
Since 2018 Kate has been specialising in interior designs for healthcare environments using a biophilic philosophy to inspire and inform designs that promote tranquillity and wellbeing.
